The exclusive recipe No. 697 - respectfully following the Italian production regulations for Vermouth - has a strong characterization of absinthe, rhubarb and liquorice. The alcohol volume is 16%, while the sugar content is relatively low (14%) to obtain a drier product than other labels.
Moreover, the brown colour of Vermouth Rosso is obtained with natural caramel (technically burnt sugar) without any addition of colouring agents or synthetic caramels such as e150c or e150d (already banned in many countries outside the European Community).
