In Sardinia the origins of a wine similar to Vermouth seem to date back to the Second World War, a period in which Vernaccia, the island's wine par excellence, was at an all-time low since the workforce was at the front and the vineyards were almost abandoned. to themselves. This was followed by the absolute ban on trading and consuming alcohol and all this contributed to fuel the black market: there was no family that did not produce and consume wine! To hide their traces, the small barrels were often hidden in the most remote corners of the gardens, covered with wooden bundles and, in some cases, forgotten. And precisely from the 'forgetfulness' and subsequent discovery of one of these barrels, the Carta family discovered that the wine inside it had not only not spoiled but had taken on more structured and characteristic features: thus the White Vermouth was born!
Pale and crystalline straw yellow, it has an almost viscous and velvety appearance that envelops the nose with typical hints of Mediterranean scrub and citrus peel, together with aromatic herbs and balsamic gusts. The sip is elegant, composed and intimate, it whispers refinement and typicality, with greedy vegetal references and a long and typical marine finish.
Excellent served straight or with some ice cubes, it will surprise you with soda and mint leaves!
