Amaro Sfumato al Rhubarb is the historical recipe elaborated by the well-known herbalist Ferrante Cappelletti 50 years ago.
The term "nuanced" winks at the Renaissance style that plays harmoniously with chiaroscuro, as does this bitter with its bitter nuances due to alpine herbs and the sweet notes of wild berries.
Rhubarb, the main ingredient of this amaro, has been used by Cappelletti for over a century to produce its herbal liqueurs due to its medicinal properties.
For the infusion, the root is mainly used, which has a characteristic bitter taste and performs a digestive and purifying action.
Neat or frozen, it is excellent at the end of a meal for perfect digestion. Ideal as a base for cocktails, from the simplest to the most elaborate. Great mixed with gin, tequila or vodka.
Tasting Notes
Nose: delicate, with both sweet hints of wild berries and typical bitters of rhubarb.
On the palate: pleasant bitter notes with a very persistent aftertaste.
