Antica Formula is the most faithful vermouth to Antonio Benedetto Carpano's first recipe of 1786.
It is produced with white wines from a selection of vines from Emilia Romagna, Puglia and Sicily, which are processed immediately after arrival in the cellar. Saffron, caramelized sugar and absinthe are added to this blend.
After a slow and laborious infusion process, the Antica Formula remains to refine for a few months.
Nose: long notes of vanilla and citrus fruits, almond, cloves and raisins.
Palate: broad and round, pleasantly vanilla. Notes of bitter orange, dates and cocoa beans, with a hint of final saffron.
