It was 1948 when Antonio and Lorenzo Cinquepalmi, owners of the Masseria lncantalupi for some years, decided to plant the first five hectares of vineyards on those deep and generous lands. Negroamaro, Primitivo, Malvasia Nera were the first vines, which soon repaid the expectations of the two brothers with valuable grapes, renowned and sought after by all the wineries in the area. The uncommon agronomic ability, the total dedication and the unlimited passion for agriculture and nature, which had led the Cinquepalmi brothers to invest all their resources in the purchase of that farm and to introduce new crops, merged into a unsurpassed combination with the fertility and warm and ventilated microclimate of that flat land, a few kilometers from the sea. The gratifying results that followed led to the planting of new vineyards and the construction of a small millstone in the Masseria.
In 1989 a first important turning point. All the company's lands - covering over 150 hectares - were converted to the organic farming method, with the exclusive use of organic fertilizers and the total abolition of herbicides and pesticides: this technique which soon allowed, in addition to the improvement of structure of the soil and healthy conditions, also a perfect balance of the agroecosystem, with the proliferation of numerous auxiliary species.
Alongside the original vineyards, trained as saplings, other plants were gradually added over an area of ten hectares, with the most modern cultivation techniques and new varieties, such as white Malvasia, Minutolo and Chardonnay, always cultivated with the of organic farming.
