Since more than 400 years Chartreuse continues to be produced by Carthusian monks leaving the original recipes unchanged. It requires the use of 130 ingredients including herbs, spices, roots and flowers with various infusions in alcohol and distillations with about 3 years of aging in large oak barrels in order to obtain a unique product.
