Caprera is, first of all, an agricultural company.
They are located in Pietranico, in the heart of green and wild Abruzzo and here they produce good things.
AN AGRICULTURAL COMPANY. FIRST OF ALL.
Agriculture means first of all soil, therefore bacteria, earthworms, clay, seeds, roots, green manures, preparations, manure, humus. And then leaves, buds, shoots. And manual labor. Scissors and hoes. Tractors and implements.
Doing agriculture means recognizing complexity, working for balance, learning patience, accepting the limits of human action on nature, observing, letting yourself be guided, doing and not doing.
Cultivating means waiting carefully, taking care.
The idea of taking care of something has now almost disappeared from the process of producing the food that nourishes us.
And man is increasingly distant from the origin of life.
Caprera is 22 hectares of organically farmed land on two different plots, not far from each other but profoundly different in their respective nature. Only a small part of these are under vineyards. There is a lot of woodland, around 500 olive trees and arable fields where local varieties of wheat are grown, as well as an apiary and a small lake which is home to a variety of wildlife.
